The exclusive golf resort going from strength to strength

The Costa Blanca South is well known for its beautiful Blue Flag beaches, gastronomy, international atmosphere and vibrant property market. However, it has traditionally been seen as a budget friendly destination and has not necessarily been well-known for luxury, exclusive resorts.

Las Colinas changes that and its slogan: "A world apart" really is true, as soon as you go past security and over the crest of the hill at the entrance to the resort you get the feeling that you have entered a different world from the busy, bustling buzz of the coast.

Impeccably maintained

One of the principal factors creating the luxury feel of the resort is the fantastic maintenance with beautiful landscaping throughout the area, freshly clipped hedges and lawns, colourful flowerbeds and of course the course itself which is a sight to behold. This extends to the real estate developments on the resort all of which are white-washed and have fantastic communal areas with gardens, ice-blue pools and lots of vegetation which helps them blend into the rolling landscape.

Growing list of facilities

When the course was first inaugurated it had a limited number of facilities with the clubhouse and minimarket, these facilities have been added to over the years and the resort now has a beautiful Italian restaurant called Il Palco, a sports and health club with a gym, swimming pool and spa area where you can receive treatments and massages and a number of tennis and paddel courts. There is also a beachclub owned by Las Colinas with preferential rates for residents, it is located in Campoamor just a short drive from the golf course and a hundred metres from the beautiful Campoamor beach.

International recognition

The golf course itself has won numerous awards in recent years and is well regarded in the golfing community as one of Spain's and even Europe's best courses. Golfers at Las Colinas are from a wide range of North European nationalities while those buying properties in the area have been mainly from Belgium. However, in the last couple of years this trend is changing with a growing number of different nationalities starting to discover the fantastic lifestyle the resort offers and a corresponding increase in the number of buyers from Britain, the Nordic countries, Holland and even further afield with recent purchases being made by Americans.

Well set for the future

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club does not yet have a hotel, there have been rumours of plans for a hotel for years and it appears that it will become a reality within the near future. The resort does have a number of rental properties, many of which are managed centrally through the resort itself and which also offer prospective buyers the chance to "try before you buy". There are also plans for more small commercial buildings on the course which will provide space for restaurants, bars and other services that will add to the resort's offer.
